‘Unto These Hills’ exhibit to open Saturday at LIFT

An opening reception for an exhibit featuring photos and memorabilia from 56 years of “Unto These Hills” performances will open Saturday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. at LIFT Culture House in Cherokee.

This special exhibit on the development of Cherokee’s outdoor drama is sponsored by the Cherokee Historical Association. The reception will also introduce the drama’s new director, Hanay Geiogamah; new stage manager Buddy Wilson; and new set designer Bob Jones.

According to James Bradley, executive director of the Historical Association, Cherokee’s outdoor drama will be revised this season, and the retrospective exhibit reviews the contributions of local residents to “Unto These Hills’ history.

The exhibit will be on display for about a month, Bradley said.
