Murder suspect surrenders on Cowee - A Sylva man wanted in connection with a Florida murder turned himself in Tuesday (Jan. 3) as television cameras rolled. Sun sets on Jackson County’s 2005 - Jackson County’s final sunset of 2005 was a spectacular one that painted the sky above Fisher Creek in shades of rose and purple as the red-gold ball prepared to sink below the Balsams, bringing an end to the first half-decade of the 21st Century.
