CIRCLE JAN. 10 ON YOUR CALENDAR and get ready for an after-holiday event that will wipe away the blues. Local musicians will team with Western Carolina University for an old-fashioned, foot-stomping good time at the new Fine and Performing Arts Center. Tickets, which cost $10, will go on sale Tuesday, Jan, 2. Check next week’s Herald for more information. All proceeds will be donated toward the construction of a community room in the new Jackson County Library.
FOUR TOP SONGWRITERS – Casey Kelly, Wood Newton, Leslie Ellis and Todd Cerney – will gather at Balsam Mountain Inn on Saturday, Dec. 31, for a New Year’s Eve edition of the inn’s Songwriters in the Round series. The four will bring a wealth of songwriting and musical talent for a night of dining, music and ringing in the New Year. The celebration includes a gourmet dinner buffet, a Mumm Napa champagne split bottle, and a keepsake glass from the inn’s restaurant, and the dinner will include grilled venison steaks, Cajun seafood medley and black forest cake. There will also be party favors and a cash bar for mixed drinks, beer and wine. Cost is $75 per person, plus tax and tip. Reservations are encouraged since most sessions sell out. Also, some guest rooms are still available for the weekend. For more information or reservations, call the inn at 1-800-224-9498. |
