The primary responsibilities of this position are: Cook II for the NCCAT Dining Services will be responsible for the preparation and serving of meals for NCCAT participants and guests and is also responsible for maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas. Will be responsible for the actual cooking of meats and vegetables and the preparation of complete meals. This position will report to the NCCAT Food Service Director and will often be required to work evenings and weekends. Occasional split shifts and overtime may be required. Knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform these duties are: Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and uses of kitchen equipment; ability to interpret and follow recipes and menus accurately as well as oral and written instructions; knowledge and ability to present food in a sanitary and attractive manner; ability to direct the work of other dining area employees; and the ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor. Training and experience requirements: Completion of the eighth school grade and two years experience in the cooking of food in quantity lots; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
