HARRIS REGIONAL HOSPITAL’S AUXILIARY THRIFT SHOP will move to its new Skyland Drive location this spring. The last day of business at the current downtown location will be Wednesday, Dec. 21. The last day for donations was Wednesday, Nov. 30. Auxiliary volunteers ask that everyone remember that they will need to stock the new shop. “Please keep your good usable items for us,” said Carol Douglas, volunteer coordinator at WestCare. “We look forward to seeing you in March at our new location on Skyland Drive near Mitchell Road. All our dedicated and loyal volunteers express a huge thank you for your generous support over the many years.” Maps from the old location to site of the new location are now available at the Thrift Shop. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY USED BOOK STORE on Main Street will mark down its sale table today (Thursday). All blue or pink marked books will be two for 25 cents. Newly marked down items will be added to the table during this sale, so stock up on winter reading now, a Friends spokesman said.
SAVANNAH-AREA COMMUNITY churches’ joint Thanksgiving service, hosted by Calvary Baptist and held at East Fork Baptist, collected almost $800 to help brighten the holidays for three needy families.
WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA CIVIL WAR ROUNDTABLE will hold its holiday get-together Monday, Dec. 12, at Waynesville Country Club.
