Charles Kirkpatrick
Dr. Charles Edward Kirkpatrick, 57, formerly of Jackson and Haywood counties, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, in Germany.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Henry Tramper
Henry Leroy Tramper, 69, of Cherokee, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Cherokee Indian Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Sequoyah Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim James and James “Bo” Parris officiating. Burial was at Armachain Family Cemetery on Swimmer Branch.
A native and lifelong resident of Cherokee, he was an elder in the Eastern band of Cherokee Indians. He was a master craftsman who attended professional Pow Wows to demonstrate his blowguns. His family is one of the last remaining award-winning dance troupes traveling across the country and abroad doing traditional Cherokee dances. He was a son of the late Ammons and Lucinda Welch Tramper.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 44 years, Annie Tramper; one son, Henry James; one daughter, Freida Ann; one brother, John; two sisters, Dorothy and Sally; and two grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Lora Tatum Tramper; four sons, Robert Tramper, Ammons Tramper, Daniel Tramper, all of Cherokee and Scott Tanner, of Albany, Ga.; three daughters, Nellie Driver, Linda Bradley, both of Cherokee, and Terri Jackson of Brierfield, Ala.; one sister, Elzina Bradley of Cherokee; 29 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Clyde Rogers
James “Clyde” Rogers, 90, of Candler, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, at Pisgah Manor in Candler.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Revs. Dennis Thurman and Keith Queen officiating. Burial was in Piney Mountain Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tom, Corey and Josh Alexander, Keith Queen, Gene Long and Tony Rice.
A native of Cullowhee, he was the owner of Lexington Egg Feed and Seed in Asheville for many years until his retirement, and a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. He was a son of the late William Weston and Ermma Leota Wilson Rogers.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Gene, Frank, Lawrence and Bill Rogers; and one sister, Alice Buchanan.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Marjorie O’Kelley Rogers; two daughters, Barbara Alexander of Roxboro and Brenda Stanley of Candler; and two grandsons.

William Bryson
William Harrison Bryson, 80, of Woodland Manor Apartments, Clyde, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005.
Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 19, at Sulphur Springs Freewill Baptist Church in Waynesville with the Rev. Phillip Wyatt officiating.
A native of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Robert and Sarah Wykle Bryson. He had resided in Georgia and Florida before moving to Haywood County in 1990. He was a retired newspaper printer and pressman and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Allie Ledford, Lena May Rowland and Lois Pearson; and one brother, Jim Bryson.
Surviving are four sisters, Edna Wiseman of Fletcher, Mary Parker of Sylva, Thelma Fisher of Charleston, S.C., and Jessie Cagle of Hendersonville; and three brothers, Robert Bryson of Sylva, Richard Bryson of Franklin and Glenn Bryson of Georgia.

J.F. Freeman
J.F. Freeman, 84, of Converse Drive, Cullowhee, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, at Skyland Care Center after a period of declining health.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in the chapel of Melton-Riddle Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery at a later date.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A native of Surry County, he had lived in Jackson County for the past 35 years. He was a retired salesman for Standard Coffee and a member of Sylva Assembly of God. He was a son of the late Frances and Mary Bennett Freeman.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Keith Freeman, a sister and a brother.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Mae Taylor Freeman; and a sister, Geneva Chandler of Swannanoa.

Mayme Moses
Mayme G. Moses, 99, of Franklin, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Owens officiating. Burial was in Higdonville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
A native of Macon County, she graduated from Western Carolina University and received her master’s degree from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. She was a school teacher in Macon County for 12 years and Clay County for 32 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #11 in Clay County, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Asheville. She was a daughter of the late David James Moses and Edith Leanora Brown Moses.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Zachary and Ray; and four sisters, Faye Moses Mashburn, Eva Cabe, Ida Alley and Helen Godwin.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Robert Perz
Robert J. Perz, 83, of Sparta, Wisc., died Monday, November 14, 2005, at his home.
A Funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sparta with Father James Leary officiating. Burial will be at a later time in Campground Cemetery, Cherokee.
He was born Feb. 20, 1922, to Mathias and Marion Carroll Perz. A native of Chicago, he was also a former resident of Cherokee, Venice, Fla., and Antigo, Wisc. He served in the 81st Division during WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith, and a brother, Frank.
Surviving are his wife of four years, Virginia; five sons, Thomas Perz of Pewaukee, Wisc., Michael Perz of Venice, Joseph Perz of Raleigh, William Perz of Fort Myers, Fla,, and James Perz of Appleton, Wisc; two daughters, Mary Ann Elrod of Leland, Miss., and Nancy Deans of Sparta; a sister, Marion Reid of Venice; 19 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
