Downtown sunset
Though the historic Jackson County Courthouse is typically Main Street’s dominant feature, Sylva’s most-photographed building took a backseat Monday night (Nov. 7) to a brilliant sunset that painted the sky in shades of rose and gold. And, viewed from The Herald roof, downtown streetlights mimicked the candle-filled luminaries that will glow throughout Dillsboro during its two-weekend holiday open house, slated this year for Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 9-10. – Herald photo by Derek Hodges |
