Finally fall

110305sugarmaple
Fall color arrived in Jackson County this week, wrapping the hillsides in red, orange and gold. This sugar maple by Carl Queen’s house on Skyland Drive sported exceptionally brilliant foliage Tuesday (Nov. 1), and nice color has also been reported along North and South River roads. This year’s fall show was predicted to be less spectacular due to the summer’s heavy rainfall, but autumn’s hues are brightening in some areas, including Charleys Creek Road in Canada community. – Herald photo by Nick Breedlove
