Coach crowned queen

Lauren Riggan, who served as an assistant volleyball coach at Smoky Mountain High this past season, was named Western Carolina’s homecoming queen at halftime of Saturday’s football victory over Elon. Riggan, a senior from Aberdeen, was sponsored by Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She was crowned by last year’s queen, Kelly Taylor. – WCU photo by Mark Haskett
