Supporting greenways

101305leadershipjackson
Jackson Chamber of Commerce Director Julie Spiro, left, looks on as Leadership Jackson graduates Sheryl Rudd, second from right, and Kay Wolf, right present Jackson County Greenways Coordinator David Bates with a check for $300. Leadership Jackson participants raised the money by collecting donations for retrieval of large white goods, such as hot water heaters, washers and dryers throughout Jackson County. During the summer and fall, the group collected more than 100 items and took them to the Jackson County landfill. “This was our way of helping out the entire county and hopefully inspiring others to support a cleaner, greener Jackson County,” said Leadership Jackson graduate Mary Beth Druzbick. Leadership Jackson is co-sponsored by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce and Southwestern Community College. In addition to Rudd, Wolf and Druzbick, this year’s graduates Stan Bryson and Matthew Chadwick.
