By Lynn Hotaling

Christopher Lee George, 25, of Dicks Creek was arrested after Lt. Jimmy Clawson and Detective Rick Buchanan found 4 ounces of meth and $7,345 in cash in George’s GMC Blazer, said Capt. Steve Lillard of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

George was pulled over for driving erratically. While officers were checking his information, they discovered he was wanted by authorities in Rabun County, Ga. The suspect agreed to a search, and the officers found the drugs and money, Lillard said.

George is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to sell/deliver and maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance.

As of Tuesday, he remained in jail in lieu of a $60,000 bond, Lillard said.
