SMHS receives Four-Wheeler

092205jimmyashe
Jackson County Sheriff Jimmy Ashe, left, and Smoky Mountain High football Coach Tim Hawkins display the newly acquired Kawasaki Mule that will be used by Smoky Mountain High resource officer Sgt. Keith Webb to patrol the campus to ensure the safety of students and to promote anti-drug use. This purchase was made possible through drug forfeiture funds received by the Sheriff’s Office from drug dealers who have been prosecuted in court and had their assets seized. The four-wheeler was first presented, complete with blue lights, at Smoky Mountain’s first home football game, when Ashe drove it onto the field to lead the Mustangs out for play against Hayesville. Sequoyah Custom Lettering and Andy Shaw Ford donated paint and lettering, and Western Carolina Communication Systems provided the blue lights.
