090105oathforpps
Superior Court Judge Phil Ginn, right, Monday administered an oath to Jackson County Sheriff Jimmy Ashe, who was recently appointed by N.C. Attorney General Roy Cooper to the N.C. Private Protective Services Board. The board’s duties include background checks for the licensing of private security companies, private investigators, security companies and company police. The board also investigates public complaints about such security companies and conducts compliance audits. One of 12 board members from across the state, Ashe is the only appointee from Western North Carolina.
