WE HAD A NOTE from Jennifer Luker, who wants everyone to know what a good job Vicki Sargent and the staff at Fairview’s summer program did this year. According to Luker, Fairview has an excellent program, and her children learned a lot and had a great time.

“I must admit that I was skeptical about sending my children to the after-school and summer day camp program,” Luker writes. “Ms. Sargent put me at ease from the beginning and assured me that my children would love the program, and she was right. They spent many hot days outside with the children at summer camp and endured the rainy ones as well. My children thoroughly enjoyed every day at day camp and were disappointed when Saturday came and they could not attend! It was great to know that I could drop my children off each morning and head off to work without any worry or hesitation. It has been a great summer for Gracelyn and Bailey, and I look forward to a great school year with the after-school program.”

GLENICE ROBERTS of Asheville, daughter of Jerry and Winnie Dills of Dillsboro, was chosen Companion Employee of the Month for the western region. She works for Buncombe County Schools with special needs students. Roberts was nominated for the honor by the parent of a young man she provides companion support to. The parent’s letter was “a wonderful  tribute to Roberts’ dedication.”
