062305wrecktMonday wreck kills one - A head-on collision near the intersection of U.S. 23-441 and Tatham’s Creek Road killed one driver and seriously injured the other Monday (June 20), according to Trooper S.K. Bowers of the N.C. Highway Patrol. Moises Gachuz, 28, of Franklin was killed when his 1990 Honda car collided with a 1997 Chevrolet driven by Patricia Stossel, 40, also of Franklin, Bowers said. Airport authority is back in business - After several idle months the Jackson County Airport Authority is back in business and poised to move forward on a planned construction project.
