Sylva Mayor Brenda Oliver presented a wreath to Master Sgt. Coy Melton during a Memorial Day ceremony Monday (May 30) at City Hall. Following the event, the wreath was placed at the veterans’ monument near the flagpole by the fountain at the Jackson County Courthouse, Oliver said. “We planned the ceremony to honor all our veterans and recognize their contribution to our nation,” Oliver said Tuesday.
