Showers open Saturday’s festival
Sylva’s eighth-annual Greening Up the Mountains downtown spring festival may have opened with showers, but the event was still a success, organizers say. Crowds – estimated at 3,000 to 4,000 – were steady all day, said Sylva Partners in Renewal coordinator Linda Gillman, and street vendors reported brisk sales.
