Mountains’ majesty
Late afternoon sunlight streams down toward Caney Fork in this shot taken last week from a Blue Ridge Parkway overlook just east of Richland Balsam. The Sylva Herald will showcase a gallery of photos that capture images of spring in the mountains during the month of May. A selection of entries in the newspaper’s annual photo contest will grace the front windows beginning April 29 and will remain on display through May 30. Winners will be announced April 30 during Sylva’s annual Greening Up the Mountains downtown festival. – Herald photo by Carey King
