Rep. Taylor to open Sylva office today

U.S. Rep. Charles Taylor will open a new office today (Thursday) in Sylva.

The office is located in the old Board of Elections building at 26 Ridgeway Street.

Taylor will host an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aide Rebecca Heppel will also be available to meet with constituents.

“I’m pleased that we now can offer our constituents in Jackson and Macon counties this service on a local basis,” Taylor said. “This allows us to extend the services of our offices, without folks having to make the long drive to Asheville or Murphy.”

Taylor will also hold the grand opening for a new office in the Macon County Courthouse in Franklin from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Taylor and aides will be available to meet individually with residents who are having problems with Social Security, disability, veteran’s affairs, immigration or any other federal agency or issue.

For more information, call Heppel at (828) 712-7073.
