Mustangs will play at home Saturday
Smoky Mountain's men's basketball team will play host to East Henderson at 3 p.m. Saturday in the play-in game of the Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Mustangs are eighth in the MAC, and East is ninth.
Saturday's winner will advance to meet top-seeded Erwin Monday at North Buncombe.
The men's semifinals will be Wednesday at North with the finals Friday at North.
Times for next week's games will be set at a meeting for conference coaches Saturday morning.
The Lady Mustangs, the third seed, will play at North in quarterfinal action Tuesday. Women's semifinals and finals, also at North, will be Thursday and Friday, respectively.
The Lady Mustangs will likely open the state 3-A playoffs at home Tuesday, Feb. 22. The probable opponent is St. Stephens.
The Mustang men must win the MAC tourney in order to advance to the playoffs.
