Local auditions for the outdoor drama "Unto These Hills" have been set for Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The try-outs will be held at the office of the Cherokee Historical Association, located on U.S. 441 in Cherokee.

The drama will begin its 56th season Thursday June 9, and performances will continue nightly, except Sundays, through Saturday, Aug. 20.

The local try-outs will be held primarily for Eastern Band of Cherokee members, but any person who is interested in applying will be auditioned.

Additional try-outs will be held Saturday, March 19, at the University of North Carolina Institute of Outdoor Drama in Chapel Hill. Several other outdoor drama companies will also be in Chapel Hill at that time to interview.
