Ochre Hill woman dies in Sunday morning fire - An Ochre Hill woman died Sunday (Dec. 12) when an early morning fire engulfed her home. Danice Williams of 377 Posey Blanton Road died after being trapped in her bedroom, said Jackson County Sheriff Jimmy Ashe. WCU December grads to include nation's first recipients of master's in entrepreneurship - Western Carolina University will celebrate a historic "first" at its Saturday, Dec. 18, commencement, honoring a graduating class that includes the first four candidates for master's degrees in entrepreneurship in U.S. history.
