DUKE POWER warns that there have been instances in other areas of the state where individuals have posed as Duke Power employees in an attempt to commit criminal actions. "For your safety, always exercise caution when any service technician shows up unexpectedly at your home," said Fred Alexander, Duke district manager. Alexander said Duke employees or contractors rarely need to enter a home and advises residents to ask for identification, especially if they have not requested a service call. If the person cannot provide a Duke ID card, Alexander advises residents to call local law enforcement.
