Cast of 150 to present Christian tale

120204trailoflight
A cast of 150 from more than 30 churches across Western North Carolina will stage The Trail of Light, an ecumenical Christian drama now in its sixth year. Shows will be held at Cullowhee Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4, with pre-show entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. Based on a script by Amy Garza, the drama tells the tale of the generations that followed Adam and Eve, covering Bible stories through the birth of Christ and beyond. This year's performance will feature new dancers and songs, and cast members, from left, (above) Bill Collins, Ron Waldrop, youngster Tommy Brennon, Larry Haskett and Galen Martin. After the show, winners of a "Gingerbread Mountain Church" contest sponsored by non-profit heritage group Catch the Spirit of Appalachia will be on display, and hot chocolate will be served on the church lawn. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. Admission to the show is free. For more information, call 293-9024 or 293-5304.
