Sweet Construction

Scotts Creek students Derrick Nicholson and Emily Stephens - Herald Photo by Rose Hooper Caught sampling construction materials last week were Scotts Creek students Derrick Nicholson and Emily Stephens. The two 11-year-olds joined their classmates in Marsha Holder's and Carol Young's class to make a gingerbread village out of graham crackers, white icing and lots of Christmas confections. Both students added extras to set their houses apart from others on the street. Derrick built a ramp to make his dwelling handicap-accessible, and Emily included a satellite dish to improve television reception. For the story and more photos of the class's gingerbread village.
