County refunds $33,000 to WestCare for Mountain Trace

After being declared tax-exempt by the N.C. Department of Revenue, Mountain Trace Nursing Home was granted a $33,000 tax refund by Jackson County commissioners during their Nov. 15 meeting.

Also, Marion Forest resident Michael Pritchett appeared before members of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners last week (Nov. 15) to request they regulate junkyards, especially this one located at the intersection of Skyland Drive and Parris Branch Road.
