Monument unveiled

"Transformation Through Forgiveness," a traveling monument in honor of Native American cultural contributions, was unveiled Monday in Cherokee as part of the community's annual Veterans Day ceremony.

"This is a special day for the Cherokee people," said Mary Jane Letts, who worked with members of Tribal Council to bring the exhibit to Cherokee.
