Stickball joins Heritage Day lineup

Western Carolina University photographer Mark Haskett captured the excitement as members of the Wolftown Stickball Team of Cherokee provided demonstrations of the traditional Cherokee game of stickball before enthusiastic crowds during the 30th annual Mountain Heritage Day. This was the first year stickball, considered to be a forerunner of the modern game of lacrosse, was part of the annual event. For more MHD photos, see page 14C.
