FEMA opens disaster recovery center here - A temporary disaster recovery center has opened in Jackson County to assist those with damages from Hurricanes Frances and Ivan. The DRC is located at the Jackson County Justice Center Room 203 through Saturday, Sept. 25, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. “We encourage county residents to call our toll free number 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) to register,” said Frank Mansell, FEMA public affairs officer, who was helping set up the Sylva center....
