Children at Rocking Horse Day Care Center in Sylva Friday remembered victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., by releasing red, white and blue balloons. Teachers discussed recent tragic events with the youngsters, and the children and adults agreed on the noon balloon-release as their way of participating in last Friday's National Day of Mourning declared by President George W.
