Carver found in Tennessee; extradited back to Sylva

By Rose Hooper

CarverHowie Claude Carver of Sylva was arrested in Greene County Tennessee on Aug. 26, according to Lt. Shannon Queen of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

“He was arrested without incident and his arrest was made possible from follow-up investigations of concerned citizen tips made to our office,” said Queen.

The Sheriff’s Office had offered a $1,000 reward leading to the arrest of Carver, who was charged with manufacturing crystal meth at his Ochre Hill residence. He was last seen in the area around July 21.

Carver was extradited back to Jackson County on Aug. 27 and is currently being held in the Jackson County Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond.
