Fighting champ

Emily Fisher of Miletich Fighting Systems captured the Women’s Open Weight title at the Courage Fighting Championships last month in Decatur, Ill. She won by submission less than a minute into the first round. Fisher, who lives in Bettendorf, Iowa, is a native of Sylva. She is the daughter of R.B. and Connie Danner.
