SMHS graduate named senior advisor to Tom Ridge - Though it’s been more than 14 years since Dan Ostergaard sat in a Jackson County classroom, he’s still a standout in the memories of his former teachers and classmates. Cemetery cleanup - An inmate from the Haywood County Department of Corrections works Monday (Aug. 9) clearing brush at the old Jackson County Home Cemetery.
