Dazzling the night sky
Thousands attended Sylva’s annual Independence Day fireworks celebration, which was held this year on Saturday, July 3, in deference to Sunday evening church services. Main Street was closed to vehicles at about 6:30 p.m. to allow the crowd room to mingle and enjoy the music and vendors’ booths. Heavy rains that soaked the area earlier in the day gave way to clear skies in plenty of time for the evening’s festivities. Sylva’s annual downtown event is sponsored by the Jackson County Recreation and Parks Department, Jackson County Commissioners, Sylva Town Board, Jackson County Travel and Tourism Authority, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Sylva Partners in Renewal and The Sylva Herald. – Herald photo by Nick Breedlove To see more photos from July 4th Celebration, Click Here |
