Judge dismisses lawsuit filed by fired SMHS principal - A Superior Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed several months ago by a veteran administrator who was fired in the wake of sexual harassment allegations. The order dismissing the suit was filed in the Jackson County Clerk of Court’s Office on June 10.

Officials OK budget, 40-hour work week - With a crowd of county employees filling about half the seats in the board room, commissioners Tuesday (June 15) approved a budget based on a 36 cent per $100 valuation and instituted a 40-hour work week for county employees.
