Police investigate break-in at business on Main Street

By Carey Phillips

The Sylva Police Department is investigating a break-in that was discovered around 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 28, at Blackrock Outdoor Co. on Main Street.

Detective John Buchanan said entry was gained by knocking in the front door.

“They went directly to a knife display,” Buchanan said. “That’s the only thing that seemed to be bothered. Various and numerous knives of an undetermined value were taken. Some evidence has been sent to the lab.”

Approximately $100 in damage was done to the door and display case, Buchanan said.

He asked anyone with information to call the Police Department at 586-2916.
