Click It or Ticket effort results in 48 violations

By Rose Hooper

During the initial week of the Click It or Ticket Spring Campaign, Jackson County Sheriff’s officers apprehended 16 wanted persons and issued 48 violations.

Officers conducted 11 random patrols and five check points last week that resulted in the following charges: 15 seat belt violations, two child passenger safety violations, six speeding charges, four driving while license revoked, two graduated driver’s license violations, one driving while impaired, four drug violations and 14 other criminal violations.

“In addition, we apprehended 16 wanted persons – people we had local charges pending on,” said Sheriff Jimmy Ashe.

“We are now in the second week of the campaign – it runs through Sunday, June 6 – and officers will be aggressively pursuing violators,” Ashe said.
