Judy would like to thank the more than 650 brides and hundreds of other customers for their support over the past five years and said she hopes her loyal customers will continue to support new owners Joy and Carol.

The outage will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Electricity will be cut off to all campus buildings and the Wachovia Bank building, but no residences, churches or businesses, except for Wachovia, will be affected. POLLY MARTIN of Sylva sent us a poem she wrote to describe the valuable community services performed by local firefighters. Martin expresses her thanks for volunteers’ willingness to leave their beds in the middle of the night to come to the aid of people they don’t even know. We agree with her.  Everyone in the county owes a debt of gratitude to all of our hard-working emergency services volunteers.

AN ITEM IN THIS column last week incorrectly listed the Dillsboro Post Office’s closing time at 5:30 p.m. rather than the correct 4:30 p.m. The Herald regrets the error.
