THE COMMUNITY TABLE, dedicated to feeding those who are hungry in Jackson County, is in desperate need for volunteers, according to director James Stewart. The Community Table serves meals on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 until 6 p.m. Also, The Table’s walk-in cooler recently broke down, preventing its volunteers from serving fresh vegetables and other perishables, including bread, fresh desserts, or condiments. Anyone licensed in commercial refrigeration repair who would like to volunteer tax-deductible services is asked to call Stewart, who expressed her thanks to everyone who supports the Table’s efforts to feed the hungry in the Sylva community.
