Cute kid
Brandy McCardle of Sylva is the first-place winner for the “Cute Kids” category in The Sylva Herald’s annual Mountain Spring photo contest. Judged by Herald Advertising Manager Margo Gray and coordinated by Herald graphic designer Nick Breedlove, this year’s competition generated a record-setting 106 entries. Other category winners are Linda Vinson of Honea Path, S.C., second; and Kayla Sloan of Sylva, third. Additional contest winners are Tracey Grant of Cullowhee, grand prize; Phyllis Jarvinen of Webster, first; Christy Taylor of Whittier, second; Amanda McFalls of Tuckasegee, third; and Jean Kirkland of Sylva, honorable mention.
