And the winner is ...
"Shannon's Bee" is the grand prize winner in The Sylva Herald's annual Mountain Spring photo contest. Tracey Grant of Cullowhee captured this image earlier this month in Sylva's East Cope Creek community. Herald Advertising Manager Margo Gray judged Grant's photo the overall winner from among this year's record-setting 106 entries, and Herald graphic designer Nick Breedlove was contest coordinator. Other winners are Phyllis Jarvinen of Webster, first; Christy Taylor of Whittier, second; Amanda McFalls of Tuckasegee, third; and Jean Kirkland of Sylva, honorable mention. In the "Cute Kids" category, first place went to Brandy McCardle of Sylva, second to Linda Vinson of Honea Path, S.C., and third to Kayla Sloan of Sylva. See other winners here. |
