Construction is under way in Cullowhee on a $1.47 million multi-purpose recreation center at the Jackson County Recreation Park. The new facility will include a gymnasium, workout and exercise rooms, showers, dressing rooms, meeting rooms and office space for the Jackson County Recreation and Parks Department. Funding for the project is from $250,000 N.C. Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grant, which is being matched with $996,227 from the county.
