Cullowhee firefighter injured while responding to call

Fire truck wrecked

Longtime Cullowhee Volunteer Fire Department member Brian Ashe was injured Friday night after he lost control of this pumper/tanker in route to an accident on Cullowhee Mountain Road. Investigators on the scene said black ice was to blame for Ashe's accident. The fireman was treated and released at Harris Regional Hospital, said department member Mike Ensley.
